Harald Schmid - the DESMA General Sales Manager - was positively surprised in every respect at this year's attendance of the Expobor in Brazil. At the international show, that is considered to be South America's most important venue of elastomer industry, a lot of potential customers and decision-makers got together. "We have been there quite often, but quantity and quality of the audience was clearly better this time", says Schmid. The 12.976 fair visitors were guest of 140 exhibitors from 18 countries taking up a floor space of 60,000 m². Besides manufacturers of equipment, machines raw materials, products and services, the areas technology, laboratory, analysis and recycling were increasingly represented.
Since the Brazilian market is promising interesting growth in all relevant sectors for the years to come, DESMA has been present with a sales and service office of its own in Sao Paulo since 2007. With this the manufacturer of high-quality injection moulding machines for elastomers managed to gain a firm foothold in this highly competitive market. DESMA offers machines from German and Indian production in this country. Alongside concrete project inquiries, DESMA also brought home from the show the order of another vertical machine from the Brazilian company Frenzel which, like many enterprises there, goes back to early German emigrants.
