Already a success story - The DESMA mould shop in the USA
|
About one year ago DESMA started the production of high-quality moulds at its Hebron-based sales and service operation. As a result, the lead times could be reduced by almost four weeks. In the meantime, 25 moulds have already been delivered. Due to the increasing demand for high-quality moulds and cold runner systems, some new equipment has been added to the USA mould shop. The addition of an optical comparator and high-speed saw increase the in-house capabilities for quality mould production. This is in addition to the Hermle milling center, the DMG hard turning lathe and large surface grinder for mould plates.
Several moulds and cold runner systems for DESMA machines with large clamping forces up to 1,000 tons have been delivered and installed in recent months to the increasing North American customer base. DESMA USA continues to receive positive feedback from its customers on the speed at which a DESMA supplied mould is implemented into their daily production versus past experiences with other mould vendors. Since each mould and cold runner manufactured at DESMA USA is tested and tuned in the stock machines and in the process engineering center on site prior to delivery, costly rework and shipping costs are eliminated.
 
The following applications are typical of the usage of DESMA moulds: motor and radiator gaskets, seals for technical installations, spring bushings, pipe gaskets and much more.
