In December DESMA honoured its employees having many years of tenure with a little celebration. The DESMA management thanked them for their loyalty to the company - their experience has decisively contributed to its success.
Jörg Baum (CNC programming) was honoured for 25 years being with DESMA. For their 10-year loyalty Walter Aicher (production), Dennis Bazin (project engineering), Oliver Benz (production), Otto Bezikofer (assembly), Remigiusz Dannecker (electrical assembly), Marc Hamma (works council chairman), Burkhard Hansen (purchasing), Ahmet Harkci (electrical assembly), Achim Huber (purchasing), Michael Luppart (Customer Care Centre), Georg Maier (sales), Michael Martin (assembly), Karl Heinz Peschke (production), Stefan Scheibe (sales), Martin Schnell (software design) and Robert Stefan (hydraulics) were honoured and, last but not least, Moritz Hipp (production) and Albert Hipp (sales) for their 40-year tenure!
Working for 40 years in one and the same company is not a everyday occurrence nowadays. So, this is a good reason to have a closer look at Mr. Albert Hipp's career.
On 2 September, 1968 Mr Hipp started at DESMA as its first commercial apprentice. At that time the company was still called MAF, the acronym of "Maschinenfabrik Fridingen". Following his 3-year apprenticeship, Mr Hipp took up a job in the DESMA sales department. There he was assigned all kinds of office work in the machine and mould sale and was the coordinator for parts manufacture with the then DESMA works headquarters in Achim.
Until 1975 more than 250 soles and soling machines for the shoe industry had been produced. For this reason a spare and service department was set up at the beginning of the eighties. In 1981 Mr Hipp became Inside Sales Manager.
After the decision of Kloeckner group to separate the lines rubber and shoe in future also geographically, the complete sector "rubber" was transferred to Fridingen which entailed considerably bigger tasks.
Due to the ever increasing number of machine and mould deliveries and in order to work more efficiently, the areas sales and dispatch were separated last year. Since September 2008 Mr Hipp has now been heading the shipping department.
